TOWNLANDS OF COLLOONEY (KILVARNET) PARISH
W. G. Wood-Martin in his History of Sligo, Vol. III, Appendix I, gives the parish townlands in Co. Sligo. The parishes in question are the civil parishes.
Two of the townlands, Ballysadare and Kilvarnet, comprised practically all of the pre-1978 united (Catholic) parish of Ballysadare and Kilvarnet. (As noted below there were also a few townlands that belong to the civil parish of Kilmorgan.) In 1978 this united parish was divided into two parishes, Collooney (Kilvarnet) and Ballisodare.

* Carricknagat is now divided between Collooney (Kilvarnet) and the new Ballisodare.
TOWNLANDS THAT ARE IN THE CIVIL PARISH OF KILVARNET
TOWNLANDS THAT ARE IN THE CIVIL PARISH OF KILMORGAN
*The civil parish of Kilmorgan lies almost entirely in the modern Catholic parish of Ballymote. How, and when, these three townlands were detached from Kilmorgan and joined to the old Ballisodare parish is not recorded.
